A horoscope is an astrological chart or diagram representing the Positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, astrological aspects, and sensitive angles at the time of an event, such as the moment of a person‟s birth. The word horoscope is derived from Greek words meaning “a look at the hours”. Other commonly used names for the horoscope in English include astrological chart, astro chart, celestial map, sky-map, star-chart, Cosmo gram, vita sphere, radical chart, radix, chart wheel, or simply chart. It is used as a method of divination regarding events relating to the point in time it represents, and it forms the basis of the horoscopic traditions of astrology.
Horoscopes are basically birth charts that hold details about an individual‟s birth time, birth date, birth place, and the planetary alignments during the exact moment of birth. It is a widespread belief that this alone is enough to have a peek at the possibilities and the probable future of an individual. The legitimacy of this belief will be segmented and studied carefully so that you, the reader, will have a clear idea of how misled the people and even the astrologers are these days.
A horoscope study must begin with the date, place, and time of birth. Predictions based on horoscopes can (and will) have discrepancies. These discrepancies are not always attributed to unskilled astrologers. In some cases, the details entered in the horoscope may be incorrect. The time of birth is the most controversial detail among many astrologers even to this day.
